Here's how getting fired twice became my competitive advantage.

1. The first firing

2018-2022: I worked for a US LLC formation company. Remote role from Jamaica.

Learned the entire system. Delaware registration. EIN applications. US banking. State compliance.

I thought I was solid. Four years of experience. Good reviews.

Then they fired me.

2. The second firing

2022-2023: I joined another LLC company. Different company, same work.

Same expertise. Same remote setup.

Got fired again.

Two firings in five years. Clearly I wasn't cut out for corporate life.

3. The free help

2023: I started ghostwriting full-time, AGAIN.

But people kept asking me LLC questions:

"How do I set up a US LLC as a Caribbean founder?" "Can you help me get an EIN?" "What's the best state to register in?"

I'd answer. For free. Then go back to writing LinkedIn posts.

Because in my head: I'm not qualified to charge for this. They fired me twice.

4. The realization

Last year, three different founders asked me the same question:

"Why aren't you offering this as a service?"

I said: "Because I got fired. Twice. Who am I to charge people for LLC advice?"

One founder laughed: "Dude, I don't care that you got fired. I care that you can solve my problem. And you're the only person I know who actually understands this stuff."

5. The launch

That conversation changed everything.

None of them cared that I got fired. They cared that I helped them.

So I launched Foundpreneur. US LLC formation for Caribbean and international founders.

6. The advantage

Getting fired twice isn't a bug in my story. It's a feature.

It means:

  • I know the system from the inside

  • I'm not trying to impress corporate bosses

  • I focus on customer results, not office politics

  • I understand the frustration of needing structure

My origin story isn't "I always dreamed of helping founders." It's "I learned this the hard way and decided to use it."

7. My take

Your worst professional moments might be your best business opportunities.

The thing you're embarrassed about might be exactly what your customers need.

I spent a year hiding the fact that I got fired. Now it's the first thing I tell people.

Because it explains why I do things differently. And different is what people are looking for.
