Today's my birthday!!!!!!! 🎈 🎉
And I'm gonna tell you something that sounds nuts.
I'm working today. By choice.
Not because I'm addicted to hustle culture. But because I learned something about birthdays that changed how I think about business.
1. Most people get celebrations wrong
Here's what most entrepreneurs do. They wait for the big wins to celebrate.
"I'll party when we hit $100K." "I'll take a vacation after the launch." "I'll relax once we get funded."
But I met this guy a few years back. Every time he signed a client—any client—he threw a party.
$500 client? Champagne. $50,000 client? Champagne.
His team thought he was crazy.
2. Turns out he was a genius
That guy built a $50 million agency.
And when I asked him how, he said something I'll never forget: "Celebration creates momentum. Momentum creates success."
He was right.
Think about birthdays. What are we celebrating? Getting older?
Nope. We're celebrating that we made it another year. We grew. We learned stuff. We're still here.
3. Small wins add up
The businesses that crush it don't wait for IPOs to pop bottles.
They celebrate everything. First sale. First employee. First good review. First time someone says "holy crap, this actually works."
And here's the thing. Each little celebration builds energy. Energy builds better work. Better work builds bigger wins.
It's a cycle.

4. Why I'm working on my birthday
This newsletter has become one of those small wins.

Good enough to work on my birthday? Yeah.
Your business probably has dozens of wins you're ignoring while waiting for the big breakthrough.
Stop waiting. Start celebrating.
5. My take
Most people think you earn the right to celebrate after you succeed.
Wrong.
You succeed because you celebrate the journey.
Every small win matters. Every bit of progress counts. Every step forward is worth recognizing.
The momentum you create today determines the success you have tomorrow.
