{{first name | Hi friend}},
So, two weeks ago I asked you to try something.
Write a story using dialogue.
Then find your peak moment.
Then transport your reader with "imagine."
Some of you did every single exercise. Some of you lurked. Either way, you showed up.
And I must admit, that's kind of cool.
But why am I telling you this?
You see:
We're entering the season of "New Year, New Content Strategy." Well, we are already in it.
You're going to see a lot of founders setting goals to post more in 2026.
But the idea that you just have to post more to grow?
It's a load of nonsense lol
I used to believe that, by the way.
Thought if I just showed up every day with "value," people would care.
They didn't.
My posts got 12 likes. Maybe 3 comments from the same people.
I was convinced that if I just kept grinding, something would click.
It didn't.
And before I let that frustration get the best of me, I realized something that changed everything for me:
People don't connect with information. They connect with stories.
And most founders have incredible stories.
They just don't know how to tell them.
Which is exactly what we built together over these two weeks.
So, here are the 7 storytelling secrets I want you to take into 2026:
Secret 1: Dialogue
Most founders write about conversations.
The ones who connect? They replay them.
Real words. Real voices. Back-and-forth 2-3 times.
"You're not ready for this."
"Watch me."
That's dialogue. That's what pulls people in.
Kind of powerful when you think about it.
Secret 2: Peak Moment
You don't need the whole story.
You need the moment that mattered.
Cut the setup. Cut the aftermath. Drop readers into the tension.
Life without the filler.
Secret 3: Imagine
Don't describe the scene. Make them create it.
"Imagine standing in a boardroom. Your pitch deck is open. The investor hasn't blinked in 30 seconds."
Now they're there. Now they care.
Secret 4: The Bridge
Your story means nothing if readers can't see themselves in it.
Connect your moment to their struggle explicitly.
"The reason I'm telling you this..."
That's the bridge. That's where stories become useful.
Secret 5: Specificity
"My teacher" is forgettable.
"Master Ting, who had a habit of tapping her glasses when she was about to say something that would ruin your week" is not.
Names. Details. Quirks. Make characters unforgettable.
Secret 6: Reliving vs. Reporting
Most founders summarize their stories.
The best ones live them again.
Present tense. Internal thoughts. Feel it as you write it.
Don't tell me what happened. Take me there.
Secret 7: Story Spotting
You don't have a content problem.
You have a capture problem.
Tension is everywhere. A hard conversation. A moment of doubt. A small win nobody saw.
Daily capture = infinite content.
Kind of wild when you realize you've been sitting on stories this whole time lol
The System
Now, here's where it all comes together.
Every night: Open your notes. Ask "What tension did I experience today?" Write it down.
Once a week: Pick one moment. Run it through the framework.
Your content calendar: One story becomes Monday's post, Tuesday's lesson, Wednesday's application, Thursday's reader feature, Friday's offer.
One story = five pieces of content.
Repeat weekly.
Never stare at a blank screen again.
But here's what this really unlocks:
It's not just content.
It's connection. Stories build relationships faster than any tip or hack you could ever share.
It's conversions. When people feel understood, they buy.
It's community. Your audience starts sharing their stories. You feature them. Something real forms.
It's consistency. The daily capture system means you never run dry.
And it requires you to decide:
Are you done posting generic advice and wondering why nobody cares?
Are you ready to tell stories that actually matter?
You have two options.
Option 1: Take this and run.
You have everything. The secrets. The framework. The system.
Go capture. Go build. Go tell your stories.
Option 2: Work with me directly.
If you want help building this into YOUR business... positioning YOUR stories for YOUR audience... turning your experiences into content that converts...
Reply "SYSTEM" and let's talk.
I work with founders 1-on-1 to build their storytelling engine.
Let's win together.
Till next time...
From Old Harbour, Jamaica,
Stephen
P.S. Over 140 of you engaged with at least one email in this sequence. 47 of you did every exercise. That's not normal engagement. That's a community building a skill together in real-time.
You're not just learning. You're becoming storytellers.
And if you happen to want any help with that...
I'm only a reply away ;)
